Come to Light From Darkness

There are two ways of passing from this world — one in light, and one in darkness. When one passes in light he does not come back but when one passes in darkness he returns.

Bhagwad Gita 8.26

***

When the force of the desire for Truth blossoms, selfish desires wither away, just like darkness vanishes before the radiance of the light of dawn.

Adi Shankara

***

Do not extinguish the lamp of Divine Grace and do not let the candle of wisdom die out in the darkness of lust and error.

Kahlil Gibran

***

Above the cloud with its shadow is the star with its light. Above all things reverence thyself.

Pythagoras

***

Truly, it is in darkness that one finds the light, so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest of all to us.

Meister Eckhart

Quotes on Family Love Your Family

Behold the man who shields his family from all suffering. Has not his body become a willing vessel for affliction? Without good men to hold it up, the family house will fall when misfortune descends.

Tirukkural 103: 1029-1030

****

A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another the home will be as beautiful as a flower garden. But if these minds get out of harmony with one another it is like a storm that plays havoc with the garden.

Gautama Buddha

****

In the Kingdom of Heaven, true love is fulfilled centred on parental love...The family is the original base of true love...

Sun Myung Moon

****

Your family is your first frame of reference...You should avail of every kind of lesson that you receive from your family.

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan

Happy Holi quotes Festival of Colors

Life should be full of colours! And each colour is meant to be seen and enjoyed separately, for if seen all mixed together, they will appear all black. Similarly, in life, different roles played by the same person should exist peacefully and distinctly inside him. Lift your spirit with the joy of colour.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

****

Holi is a love-filled sport between lovers — getting drenched in one another's colour of love. Holi is the special day to dissolve your personal identity and gel completely with Krishna for He is the very embodiment of love.

Anandmurti Gurumaa

****

Look at Nature: there is existence enjoying Holi every day. In Nature, colours flow afresh every day, new flowers open each morning. Even before the old leaves fall, new buds are bursting out and new shoots are springing up. The festival is non-stop.

Love and Fear..............

The path to love and happiness, is really not outside,
it's born from truth & honesty, and not within a lie.
It grows within the feelings, that centers in your heart,
it feeds on trust & loyalty, and does not tear apart.

It lifts you when you're burdened, and holds you when you're sad,
it secures you when you're jealous, and laughs when you are mad.
And through the joys and sorrows, of love and hate and fear,
the memories created, should last throughout your years.

Loving is the answer, it grows from what you learn,
your thoughts create the future, the Point of no Return.

When you go off center, and lose your sense of pride,
the negative surrounds you, with bitter words and lies.
Sometimes indecision, and sometimes in regret,
sometimes insecurity, and sometimes as a threat.

Because of constant pressure, because of fear of why,
because of all the questions, and because of all the lies.
You need to touch your center, is what I can suggest,
get hold of faith & confidence, this is the last request.

You need to start things over, starting with the truth,
you need to start to change the past, began within your youth.
You're just a fish in water, swimming for your life,
a thinking feeling person, looking for what's right.
You need to touch the child, held deep within us all,
escape through truth & honesty, not up against the wall.
Our pets show us this secret, they give love without concern,
the message here is giving, with no thought of your return.

Written as an omen, about the quest for life,
a thought provoking commentary, about searching for what's right.
You can be a martyr and destroy what you have learned;
or you could be in ecstasy, a place that you must earn.

Your thoughts become the future

There is no religion greater than truth and a truthful person knows no fear.

Rig Veda
*

Every noble work is bound to face problems and obstacles. It is important to check your goal and motivation thoroughly. One should be very truthful, honest and reasonable. One's actions should be good for others and for oneself as well. Once a positive goal is chosen, you should decide to pursue it all the way to the end. Even if it is not realised, at least there will be no regret.

The XIV Dalai Lama
*

What is true is that honesty is incompatible with the amassing of a large fortune.

M K Gandhi
*

The first thing is to be honest with you. You can never have an impact on society if you have not changed yourself. Great peacemakers are all people of integrity, of honesty and humility.

Nelson Mandela
*

There is no pillow as soft as a clear conscience.
